Griz-O- Bars, Beats and Bear

image-7127.jpg

Griz-O’s selection of beats and bars different styles and sounds.

Griz-O was born and raised in Gloucester, where his father’s musical choices of Tupac and Biggie Smalls infused him with a love for music and creativity at a very early age. As he explored his love of music he found himself inspired by artists like Snoop Dog, Busta Rhymes, DMX and Ludacris, as well as grime artists like Roll Deep, Nasty Crew and Skepta having an impact.

An up and coming Hip Hop artist, he describes his music as having an experimental twist that is influenced by a touch of grime. A lyrical master and a graceful storyteller, his songs capture the listener and demand attention.

He first realised that he wanted to pursue a career in music after spitting bars at youth clubs and events in his local area. His upbringing was heavily inspired by music and so the gravitation to become an artist was both a natural and magnetic progression. From early on in his youth, those around him always complimented him on his natural talent and said he deserved to be heard, so having worked a few “dead-end” jobs and watching the people around him get into trouble through lack of opportunities, Griz-O decided that his life lay elsewhere and was determined to make something of his future.

He has performed at the BBC’s Maida Vale studios as part of DJ Target’s ‘Homegrown’ show and featured on BBC Introducing. Following the success of his performance at the Maida Vale studios, he was called back to be interviewed live on BBC 1xtra. He has performed at Shoreditch’s infamous XOYO club alongside artists like Avelino and Ms Banks and headlined iluvlive’s ‘Undersolo’ event in Camden and was the main support for Astroid Boyz as part of their B-side tour in Cheltenham.

His single, ‘Crazy’ was playlisted as the BBC Introducing track of the week on 1xtra and received daily airplay at the end of 2015 and his last mixtape was promoted by major platforms such as RWD Magazine, MOBO Awards, MTV, ILuvLive, Pardon My Blog, 5 Mag, BBC 1xtra, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing
